Meet Stella – JS Information’s Most Senior (and Sleepiest) Employee 🐾

Stella, JS Information’s calico cat and sleepiest employee, resting on a checkered blanket.

Every business has that one employee who’s been there since day one. The one who knows where everything is, never misses a shift, and has absolutely no interest in following the dress code.

At JS Information, that employee is Stella. She’s 17 years old, she’s a cat, and she’s been here for the whole ride.

She’s been here since the iPhone 4

When I started fixing phones back in 2011–2012, the iPhone 4 and 4S were brand new, “the cloud” still sounded like a weather report, and Stella was already supervising.

Since then, she’s watched thousands of cracked screens, dead batteries and broken charging ports come through the door. She’s seen the jump from the home button to Face ID. She’s survived the great Lightning-to-USB-C transition without a single complaint. Honestly, she’s handled it better than most of us.

📋 Official Employee File

  • Name: Stella
  • Age: 17 (that’s about 84 in human years)
  • Job title: Chief Napping Officer & Head of Customer Relations
  • Office: The couch. Non-negotiable.
  • Hours: Whenever she feels like it (but she’s never late)
  • Salary: Food, treats, and cuddles, paid on demand
  • Special skills: Sleeping, sensing cat lovers, staring
  • Performance review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Would not trade her for anyone

Head of customer relations (selective edition)

Stella mostly keeps to herself. She’s a professional, after all. But she has a special talent: she can tell when a customer loves animals, especially cats.

When that happens, she’ll get up from her couch (a big deal, trust me), stroll over to say hi, and sometimes even let you pet her. If Stella comes to greet you, consider it the highest honour JS Information can give. It’s better than a 5-star review.

The late-night break reminder

When I’m working late on a tricky repair, Stella will wander into my office and just… stare at me.

For a long time, I thought it meant “Hey Jason, you’ve been at it too long. Time to take a break.”

After 17 years, I’ve finally translated it properly. It actually means:

  • 1 Pet me.
  • 2 Play with me.
  • 3 Also, I’m starving. (I was fed two hours ago. I’m still starving.)

Either way, she’s usually right. The microscope can wait five minutes.

😴 Her work ethic

Stella has never once been late for work. She’s on her couch before I’ve finished my first coffee. She does, however, sleep on the job. A lot. Like, a lot a lot. But in 17 years, nothing has ever gone missing from that couch, so I’d say she’s doing a great job guarding it.

Still got some get-up-and-go

At 17, Stella is slowing down a little. Arthritis has made her a bit stiffer than she used to be, and her jumps are more carefully planned these days. But don’t let that fool you. She still has plenty of get-up-and-go, especially when it comes to her two biggest motivations in life: food and cuddles. Mention either one, and she moves like it’s 2012 again.

I honestly couldn’t ask for a better employee. She’s been there for every late night, every tough repair, and every milestone of this little business. JS Information wouldn’t be the same without her.

🐾 Coming in for a repair?

Ask for Stella! She’s probably not far (check the couch). If she comes to say hi, congratulations: you’re in the presence of a real legendary cat.
