What happens if I don’t pick up my device after repair?
At JS Information, we kindly ask all customers to pick up their repaired or inspected devices promptly after being notified that the service is complete.
To ensure smooth operations and efficient use of our workspace, the following conditions apply:
- Pickup Window: Customers have 14 days (2 weeks) from the date of repair completion or service notification to retrieve their device.
- Late Fee: After the 14-day period, a $20 storage and late handling fee per week will be applied to the outstanding balance.
- Abandoned Devices: If a device remains unclaimed for 4 weeks (28 days) after notification, JS Information reserves the right to consider the device abandoned. We may then dispose of, recycle, or repurpose the device at our discretion to recover storage and handling costs.
We encourage all customers to stay in touch regarding their repair status and pickup arrangements to avoid additional fees or loss of their device.
Pricing & Warranty
How much does a typical repair cost?
Repair costs vary depending on the device and issue. Contact me for a free quote specific to your device and issue.
Do you offer free quotes?
Absolutely! I provide free quotes for all repairs. Just describe your device issue, and I’ll give you an honest estimate with no obligation.
What does your warranty cover?
Under warranty, I will repair or replace any malfunctioning or defective part(s) installed by me at no cost. The warranty does not include accidental damage or damage caused by negligent use. If the part is physically damaged in any way, the warranty is automatically voided. I reserve the right to determine what is defective versus physically damaged.
How long is the warranty period?
Most repairs come with a 6-month warranty on parts and labor. MacBook and iMac screen replacements have 3-month warranty. This gives you peace of mind that your repair is protected.
Repair Process
What types of devices do you repair?
I repair iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets, MacBooks, iMacs, and gaming consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch). If you’re unsure whether I can fix your device, just ask!
Do you use original parts or aftermarket parts?
I use high-quality aftermarket parts that meet or exceed OEM specifications. For MacBook and iMac screens, I source premium-grade replacement screens with very low defect rates. All parts are tested to ensure they work properly before installation.
How do I get started with a repair?
Simply call me at (506) 878-7445 or fill out my contact form. Describe the issue with your device, and I’ll provide a quote and timeline. Then you can drop off your device at my shop when convenient.
Do I need to backup my data before repair?
Yes, absolutely! While I take great care with your devices, I’m not responsible for any data loss during repairs. Always backup your important data before bringing your device in for service.
Will I lose my data during repair?
Most repairs (like screen replacements or battery replacements) don’t affect your data. However, there’s always a small risk with any electronic repair, which is why I strongly recommend backing up your data beforehand.
What if you can’t fix my device?
If I determine that your device can’t be repaired or isn’t economical to repair, I’ll let you know upfront. There’s no charge for diagnostics if I can’t complete the repair.
What if my device is water damaged?
Water damage can be tricky, but I can assess the extent of the damage and let you know if it’s repairable. The sooner you bring it in after water exposure, the better the chances of recovery. I’ll give you an honest assessment of whether repair is worthwhile.
MacBook & iMac Repairs
How long does a MacBook screen repair take?
The repair itself takes 1-2 hours once I have the replacement screen. However, I need to order the specific screen for your MacBook model first, which typically arrives in 7-10 business days. Once it arrives, I’ll contact you to schedule the repair.
Why do you require a 50% deposit for screen repairs?
MacBook and iMac screens are expensive and model-specific, so they must be ordered specifically for each repair. A 50% deposit is required to order the correct screen for your device. Because these parts are purchased specifically for your repair, the deposit is non-refundable once the part has been ordered. Once the replacement screen arrives, I will contact you to schedule the repair, and the remaining balance is due once the repair is completed.
How long do you hold ordered parts before the repair must be completed?
MacBook and iMac screens are special-order parts that are purchased specifically for each customer’s repair.
Once the replacement part arrives, you will be contacted to schedule your repair. To ensure supplier warranty coverage and proper inventory management, repairs should be completed within a reasonable timeframe.
- Repair Window: Customers are asked to complete their repair within 30 days of being notified that the part has arrived.
- Unused Parts: If the repair is not completed within this period, JS Information reserves the right to use the part for another repair or require a new deposit if the part needs to be reordered.
- Restocking: If a part can be returned to the supplier, a restocking fee may apply.
If visiting the shop is difficult, you may also ship your device to JS Information for repair. Contact us for shipping instructions.
Console Repairs
Do you repair all gaming console brands?
I repair PlayStation (PS4, PS5), Xbox (Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X), and Nintendo Switch consoles. I handle common issues like HDMI port repairs, power supply problems, overheating, and charging port repairs.
